The British rider Michael Whitaker received this Sunday at the hands of the infanta Elena trophy certifying him as the winner of the Copa del Rey in the jumping competition in Madrid, held at the Club de Campo.
Fulfilling the forecasts for the tiebreaker, Whitaker has been proclaimed winner of the Copa del Rey, one of the star 106 ICS 5 Madrid, included in the Longines Global Champions Tour, with a prize of 75,000 euros in prizes.
The English rider has dominated the competition on the back of Viking, a double zero and a Chrono of 36,95 seconds in the second race, the only team that has managed to get 37 seconds.
German Christian Ahlmann, second in the world rankings, finished second on Caribis Z, a horse without international experience. His time has been 37,45 seconds. The third rated has been Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann.
A total of 40 participants, have accessed the second sleeve 10 zeros of the first. No Spanish got the pass to the tie-break on the green trail of the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
