The Spanish Sergio García, not winning on the PGA Tour from 2012, will again enjoy the taste of victory this Sunday to impose upon the American Brooks Koepka in the tie-break that the triumph was resolved in the AT & T Byron Nelson, played at the TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving (Texas, United States).
The last time that Sergio García won a tournament in this North American tour was from August 20, 2012 at the Wyndham Championship.
It makes less than his last victory on the European circuit. It was on January 25, 2014 at the Qatar Masters. And by 2015 it lifted a trophy on the Asian Tour by winning the Open Tram Ho in Viet Nam.
Castellón player finished the four rounds tied to 265 hits (15 under par) with Koepka, which sent both back to the ‘tee’ 18 to face a run-off.
Everything was face to Sergio García when his opponent went to water in his tee-shot on the par 4 of 18. Meanwhile, the Spanish came to the middle of the fairway and ended up signing the pair, for a double bogey from the American.
Sergio García broke its streak in the tiebreakers. In his last three ‘playoffs’ ended up losing, the last time in The Player Championship in 2015.
Its 36 years, the Spanish added to already 29 Professional victories to his record. Nine on the PGA Tour, once in Europe, five in Asia and five in other tournaments outside these circuits.
